It's happening. Right now. A few hours ago. And then again in a moment. It's happening in our midst. It affects women of all ages, all backgrounds and regardless of social status. And: It is not an isolated case. Every 23 minutes, a pregnant woman dies as a result of an unsafe abortion - one of the leading causes of maternal mortality worldwide, and also the only cause that is almost entirely preventable. Doctors Without Borders advocates for access to safe and free abortion as basic health care to end preventable death and suffering. "A Forgotten Emergency" aims to break the abortion taboo and show that all women have a right to self-determined and safe abortion. Everywhere.
